The Scottsboro City Council is considering a proposed 10-year plan to improve the city’s six major drainage systems.
Earlier this week at a work session, the council heard the proposal from Clay McGee of of CDG Engineers of Albertville.
McGee said the comprehensive plan would include five systems connected to the Roseberry Creek basin which cover the downtown area, and also Dry Creek near Hollywood.
Scottsboro Mayor Melton Potter said the city has never had a comprehensive plan.
“We’ve always taken a shotgun approach in the past,” Potter said. “A little here and a little there. This is something to work toward.”
The proposed plan would take eight or nine months to complete at a cost of $130,000, according to McGee.
