N. Jackson, Scottsboro win state cheer titles

Cheerleading squads from North Jackson and Scottsboro brought home state championships from 2009 AHSAA State Cheerleading Competition Saturday at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville.
Varsity squads competed in divisions Class 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, 6A, non-building and coed. The 13th annual event was administered by the Universal Cheerleaders Association.
North Jackson won the Class 4A state championship for a second straight season.
Scottsboro won the non-building division state crown.
Scottsboro’s junior high squad finished third in the middle school medium division.
