Published October 22, 2009

Scottsboro investigators arrested two people Tuesday in connection with stolen credit cards

Brittany Nicole Young, 19, of Scottsboro, and a 17-year-old Scottsboro male were arrested after a traffic stop on West Willow Street.

Both were charged with Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, Receiving Stolen Property and two counts of Theft Third Degree.

According to investigator Chris Kirby, the two suspects allegedly stole credit cards in Skyline and Hollywood.

“They were trying to use them at various places in Scottsboro to buy gas,” Kirby said.

Kirby said the credit cards would be denied, and the two would then leave.

During the arrests, a stolen checkbook was also found.

Young and the juvenile remain in the Scottsboro City Jail, awaiting bond.

Kirby said more charges could be pending.
