Man facing burglary and theft charges

Published May 4, 2009

A month-long joint investigation led to charges against a DeKalb County man in a burglary that took place on County Road 19 in Section.

Jackson County investigator Dale Brewster said the residence was burglarized on March 7, and $4,500 worth of property, including guns, hunting equipment, electronics, knives and watches were taken.

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office arrested Charles Arthur Dunn, 42, last week in an unrelated burglary in Sylvania.

"The suspect led investigators to a residence near Northeast State Community College, where multiple guns and hunting and electronic equipment was recovered," said Brewster.

Dunn has been charged with burglary third degree, theft first degree and criminal mischief third degree by Jackson County investigators.

"He is currently in the DeKalb Jail on burglary and probation violation charges," said Brewster. "We are awaiting to serve warrants."

Brewster added that more arrests are expected in the burglary case in Section.
