Lillie Mae Chatman Cox

Ms. Lillie Mae Chatman Cox was born on March 14, 1941 to the late Ezell and Louise Chatman, in Morgan County.

She confessed to Christ at an early age and was a devoted and faithful member of Higher Ground Church in Columbus, Ohio.

Ms. Lillie, as many often called her, worked in the nursing field at Ohio State Hospital for many years until her health failed. She also cared for others in her community as well an many of her family members.

She is preceded in death by parents, Ezell and Louise Chatman, a sister, Mary Walker, brother, Lee Benton, son, Randy Chatman; aunt, Birder Jackson, special friend and cousin, Roxie Mae Draper, her beloved pug, Jackson, who she cared for and loved for many years.

She leaves to cherish her memory, devoted daughters to the end, Debra Allison Horton, Scottsboro and Elizabeth Ann and John Burgess, of Columbus, Ohio, sons, Robert and Ledelthia Moser of Scottsboro; George and Dionne Cox, Jr., David Yalonda Cox, Rommie O and Laurie Cox, all of Columbus, Ohio; 24 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, soon-to-be born.

Visitation was Monday, November 23, 2009 at Rudder Funeral Home with the Funeral service Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Rudder Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. James Walker, Jr., officiating with interment to folllow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
