Published November 6, 2009
A Bryant woman remained in jail Thursday after being arrested by Jackson County Sheriff deputies the night before on drug charges.
Capt. Eric Woodall said deputies Dennis Blevins and Steve Whritenour went to a residence on County Road 194 in Bryant to serve an arrest warrant. When the deputies arrived, two people ran from the residence, Woodall said. Blevins and Whritenour were able to apprehend one person.
“While apprehending the suspect, deputies located items used in manufacturing meth,” Woodall said. “They contacted investigators to obtain a search warrant.”
Meth was allegedly found in the residence during the search.
Clarissa Devries, 34, of Bryant was arrested and charged with Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance (meth) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (meth).
She is currently in the Jackson County Jail on a$15,000 bond.
Woodall said other arrests in the case are expected.
