Leroy Rout
Mr. Leroy Rout, 75, of Scottsboro departed this life on Monday, December 21, 2009. A memorial service will be announced at a later date, with burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Kerby Funeral Home is in charge.
Mr. Rout served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957 and was a disabled veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Scottsboro Masonic Lodge #359 since 1964. He retired from the Texas Department of Corrections in 1991.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Evelyn Rout; sons, David Rout (Debbie) of Del City, Va., Phillip Rout of Fredericksburg, Va., and Alan Rout of Manassas, Va.; daughters, Sharon Rout of Manassas, Va., and Marcia (Steve) of Ashland, Va.; six grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter; step-sons, David Bowling (wife Teresa) and Don (Ruby) Bowling, both of Texas, William Bowling of Missouri, Tom Bowling of Nevada, Chuck (Mary Ann) Bowling of Arkansas; step-daughters, Bobby Smith of Henagar, Teri Bowling of Langston, Sandy (Jeff) Tindal of Idaho, Cathy (Rob) of Texas, Toni (Ray) Woodcock of Texas, Lisa (Daniel) of Texas, Amy (Robert) of Texas, Karen (Chuck) Modesette of New Mexico; 44 step grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Huff, step-father, John Huff, and father, Shirley Rout.
