Opal Inez Jones
Opal Inez Jones, 87, of Scottsboro, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Highlands Health and Rehab.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 11, at 11 a.m. from Rudder Funeral Home Chapel in Scotsboro with Bro. Dock Cookston, Bro. Gene Voss and Bro. Rodney Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Rudder Funeral Home in Scottsboro.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jammie and Roy Wilhelm of Scottsboro and Carolyn and Houston Cookston of Crossville.; son and daughter-in-law, Alton and Dora Carter of Euharlee, Ga.; step-sons, Ben and Louise Carter of Cleveland, Tenn., Doyle Jones and Melvin Jones; step-daughters, Hazel Tanner, Louise Haney and Mildred Haney; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and very special friend, Catherine Batey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harris and Clementa Dover; three brothers; seven sisters; husbands, Floyd Carter and Ayers Jones; step-son, John Wesley Carter; step-daughter, Myrtle Philips; and
