Ball does it all for Woodville

Grant Ball was a do-it-all for the Woodville Panthers football team this season.
The freshman quarterback led the team in rushing and passing, was among the team leaders in tackles and was a dangerous kickoff returner.
Friday night against Section, Ball contributed in all of those areas.
He ran for 238 yards and three touchdowns while completing 8 of 14 passes for 89 yards and a score in the Panthers' loss to Section. Defensively, Ball posted a team-high 12 tackles.
For his efforts, Ball has been named the The Daily Sentinel Prep Football Honor Roll Player of the Week.
Other notable performances from the final week of the 2009 high school football season were:
Zach Mardis, Scottsboro — The senior four-year starting linebacker recorded 18 tackles in a loss to Cherokee County, setting the career tackles record at SHS with 406. He bested the old record of 400 held by Jeremy Roden. Mardis had 210 career solo tackles and 196 career assists.
Montel Hale, North Jackson — The junior receiver caught seven passes for 178 yards and three touchdowns in the Chiefs' win over Etowah. Hale also ran for 47 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns.
Josh Sensor, Pisgah — Had 215 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries in Pisgah's victory over North Sand Mountain.
Cody Davis, Section — Ran for 174 yards on nine carries in the Lions' win over Woodville. He also scored on a two-point conversion play and recovered an onside kick.
Jonathan Davis, North Jackson — Recorded seven tackles and two sacks in North Jackson's win over Etowah.
Zak Walsh, North Sand Mountain — The sophomore had 18 tackles and one interception in a loss to Pisgah.
Josh Beam, Skyline — Ran for 150 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries in the Vikings' loss at Donoho.
Aaron Chapman, Section — The freshman ran for 79 yards two touchdowns on five carries and in the Lions' win over Woodville.
Denzel Bynum, North Jackson — The junior returned a kickoff (96 yards) for a touchdown for a second straight game while recording five tackles and an interception on defense in the Chiefs' win over Etowah.
Trey Brizendine, Scottsboro — The senior blocked a field goal, an extra point and recorded eight tackles in a loss to Cherokee County.
Will Richard, North Jackson — The senior quarterback completed 12 of 16 passes for 231 yards and five touchdowns in the Chiefs' win over Etowah.
