William "Buddy" Jordan
Services for William “Buddy” Jordan, 95, were held on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Phillips Chapel C.M.E Church, 4023 Cates St. Milan, Tenn. Burial was held at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, Md.
He was born June 12, 1914 in Scottsboro. Buddy retired in 1968 after 25 years in the U.S. Armed Forces. He attended Lane College in Jackson, Tenn. and Howard University.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Davis; one daughter, Doris Jordan Bowman; three brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are: three daughters, Selena (Charles) Spriggs of Elsmere, Ky., Nancy (Charles II) Pettiford, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Joyce Jordan of Baltimore, Md.; two sons, William (Jacque) Jordan, Jr. of Springfield, Ill., and Raymond Jordan of Stuttgart, Germany; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; many great-great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and two very special friends, Lenton Donell and Josie Anderson, both of Milan, Tenn.
Mr. Jordan died Thursday, December 3 at NHC Healthcare in Milan, Tenn. Mercer Brothers Funeral Home was in charge.
