Betty West
Betty West, 79, of Pleasant Groves, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2009, at her home.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, August 23, from Pleasant Groves Holiness Church with Brother Arthur McAllister and Brother Vernon Stephens Jr. officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Groves Cemetery.
Scottsboro Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. West is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Tommy) Dalton of Pleasant Groves, Rita (Donald) Thomas of Pleasant Groves and Phillis (Steve) Golden of Pleasant Groves; sons, Larry (Helen) West of Pleasant Groves and Hubert (Donna) West of Scottsboro; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Billie Jessee of Somerset, Ky.; sisters-in-law, Bobbie Olinger of Pisgah, Vera ("Bud" Vernon) Davis of Pleasant Groves, Retha (Ray) Hudgins of Pleasant Groves and Mildred Peacock of Letcher; brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Catherine) West of Pleasant Groves and James Pence; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. West was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Duke" West; parents, Luther and Nannie Olinger; brothers and sisters, Coy Olinger, Raymond (Neil) Olinger, Kelly (Alice) Olinger, Lonnie Olinger, Annie (Carl) Dudley and Lucille (Jessie) Pemberton; father and mother-in-law, Jasper and Hettie West; brothers and sisters-in-law, Earnest (Ruth) West, Audrey (Willard) Short, Jean Pence, Gertrude (Clarence) Cain, Ella Mae West, Mandy West, Gordon Peacock and Bernie Jessee; daughter-in-law, Bonnie West; and granddaughter, Melissa Dalton.
