Another meth lab found, two arrested

Published August 6, 2009

Two men remain in the Jackson County Jail after allegedly being caught making meth Tuesday night by law enforcement officials.

Chief Deputy Chuck Phillips said investigators Craig Holcomb and Kevin Miller conducted an investigation after receiving information of a meth lab at a residence on County Road 330 in Pisgah.

"After they arrived, one of the suspects was located in a bathroom in the back of the residence," said Phillips, who added the bathroom was on fire.

Harold Wayne Stanford, 53, of Pisgah and Boyd Cody Stoner, 20, of Flat Rock were both charged with Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance First Degree. Stanford was also charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence, while Stoner was also charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol on Premises Not His Own.

Phillips said the Rosalie Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire, which destroyed the residence. In addition, the State Fire Marshal's office was also contacted.

Deputies Tracy Holman and John Hall assisted in the arrests.

Stanford and Stoner remained in jail Wednesday. Stanford's bond has been set at $12,500, while Stoner's bond is $10,500.
