Personnel moves made by JCBOE

The Jackson County Board of Education approved a number of personnel moves Thursday night, including the hiring of a new Woodville High School principal.
The board voted to transfer Bruce Maples from assistant principal at Woodville to the principal's position after the transfer of long-time Woodville High School Principal Shane Small to principal at the alternative school.
Jackson County Superintendent Ken Harding said board member Tony Baker brought together a group of three representatives from the Woodville community to interview seven candidates for the principal position, along with Harding and himself. The unanimous agreement was to promote Maples, Harding said.
In other personnel business, the board:
•Accepted the resignation of Brian Smith as boys head basketball coach at Paint Rock Valley;
•Approved three year contracts for Dr. Linda Allen as principal of Stevenson Elementary, Chris Davis as principal of North Sand Mountain, Monte Gant as principal at the Earnest Pruett Center of Technology (EPCOT), Chad Gorham as principal at Skyline and Sam Houston as principal at North Jackson;
•Transferred Derek Wynn from elementary teacher at Section to physical education teacher and basketball coach at Skyline;
• Transferred Beverly Patalas from special education teacher at Woodville to Hollywood;
•Transferred Tracy Ryan from science teacher at Skyline to EPCOT;
•Transferred Denise Scogin from science and math teacher at Paint Rock Valley to science teacher at Skyline;
•Transferred Jaqueline Goins from counselor at Rosalie and Flat Rock to EPCOT;
•Transferred Deanna Brewer from bus driver at Woodville to Skyline;
•Accepted the resignation of Jimmy Hodges as drafting instructor at EPCOT;
•Accepted the resignation of Rob Hannah as special education teacher at North Sand Mountain;
•Accepted the resignation of Denise Baugher as special education teacher at Hollywood;
•Employed Michelle Dalton as half-time teacher at Bryant Elementary;
•Employed Kelly Black as drafting instructor at EPCOT;
•Employed Cody Hawkins as social science teacher at Hollywood;
•Employed Shelly Grant as special education teacher at North Sand Mountain;
•Employed Queena Armstrong as graduation coach at Section;
•Employed David Adkins as graduation coach at Skyline;
•Employed Donna Bishop as special education teacher at Skyline;
•Employed ShaShauna Watson as special education teacher at Stevenson Middle;
•Employed Rebecca Roberson as special education teacher at Woodville;
•Employed Laura Paige Hicks as Family and Consumer Science teacher at Woodville;
•Employed Jonathan McBride as special service aide countywide;
•Employed Cynthia Whigham as special service aide countywide;
•Employed Allison Matthews as nurse countywide;
•Employed Carla McIntire as classroom aide at EPCOT.
