Retha West Hudgins
Retha West Hudgins, 69, of Pleasant Groves passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009 at her home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 2 p.m. from Pleasant Groves Holiness Church. Rev. Auther McAllister and Rev. James Carl Black, officiating, with interment in Pleasant Groves Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. — 9 p.m. Tuesday at Scottsboro Funeral Home. Mrs. Hudgins will lie-in-state at the church from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday.
She is survived by her husband Buford Ray Hudgins, Pleasant Groves; daughter Lenita Fay Hand, Pleasant Groves and son, Kenneth Wayne Coffey, Jr., of Florence; grandsons, Dustin (April) Click of Owens Crossroads and Shannon Ray Hand of Pleasant Groves; sisters, Mildred Peacock and Vera Davis, both of Pleasant Groves; brother, James Pence of Pleasant Groves,; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hudgins was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Hettie West; brothers, Ernest West and Thomas Duke West; sisters, Amanda West, Gertrude Cain, Audrey Short, Ella Mae West and Jean Pence; brother-in-law Gordon Peacock, Clarence Cain, Willard Short, Vernon (Bud) Davis; and sisters-in-law, Ruth West, Betty West.
