Ophelia Short Curvin
Ophelia Short Curvin, 82, of Delta, Ala., passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2009, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, at 2 p.m. from Miller Funeral Home and Crematory in Oxford with Rev. Pete Haynes and Rev. Jackie Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Forestlawn Gardens. Rainsville Funeral Home announcing the arrangements.
Mrs. Curvin is survived by her husband, Gene Curvin; son, Tommy Short and wife, Connis of Fyffe; daughter, Judy Henson and husband, Brother Henson of Oxford; step-sons, Randy Curvin and Buddy Curvin, both of Delta; step-daughter, Elaine Motes; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Curvin was a native of DeKalb County, but has lived in Delta for the past 36 years. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist church in Delta. Mrs. Curvin was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Easter Fraser; daughter, Betty Payton; four brothers; and two sisters.
