Second for SSA
Published July 20, 2010
Scottsboro Swim Association headed to Cullman this weekend with a big target on their back.
After placing second among nine teams for each of the past four years, Scottsboro's coaches were concerned that improving teams from Cullman, Guntersville and Albertville saw an opportunity to remove the Wildcats from their perch behind District 2 juggernaut Madison.
The coaches need not have worried, as SSA swimmers exceeded expectations with 19 gold medals and 11 new team records on its way to a modern team-record of 410 points. Madison again finished first with 784 points, while Cullman and Guntersville trailed the Wildcats with 266 and 223 points respectively.
Medals were awarded for the top three places, with points scored through sixth place on a 7-5-4-3-2-1 basis. Here's a breakdown of SSA's performance's from each day.
