Woman charged with drug possession

Published November 24, 2009

A drivers license checkpoint Saturday night resulted in the arrest of a Pisgah woman on drug charges.

Cpt. Eric Woodall said the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, along with Alabama State Troopers and the Dade County, Ga. Sheriff's Office, conducted the checkpoint on Alabama Highway 71 near the Georgia line.

The Dade County K-9 unit was used during the checkpoint, Woodall said.

Tabatha Helms, 31, of Pisgah was arrested after she was allegedly found to be in possession of meth.

Helms was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

She is currently out of the Jackson County Jail on bond.
