A Skyline man was killed in a wreck involving an all-terrain vehicle Sunday afternoon.

Jackson County Coroner John David Jordan said Roger Dean Prater, 36, died instantly after apparently losing control of his vehicle.

“He was riding with a group,” said Jordan. “He lost control and ran into a ditch.”

The accident happened on County Road 55 in the Low Gap community, near Stevenson.

Funeral services will be held for Prater today at Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel.
