Published October 30, 2009
Southgate Baptist Church in Scottsboro will host revival services Sunday, Nov. 1 through Wednesday, Nov. 4 with Evangelist Steve Freeman from Winchester, Tenn. speaking.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. A dinner will be held on the church grounds after the Sunday morning services. Weeknight services will begin at 7 p.m.
Larry Nicholson of Madison will be the special singer during the revival.
A friendly welcome awaits every visitor, Pastor Ron Harvey said in inviting the community to take part in the services.
Southgate will provide a nursery during each service. The church is located on South Broad Street.
Freeman served as pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Winchester before entering full time evangelism. He speaks regularly at revival meetings, Bible conferences, mission events, camps and other meetings. He and his wife, Barbara, are members of Victory Baptist Church in Shelbyville, Tenn.
He says his goals are, to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and serve the local church; to be a blessing and encouragement to the past; to seek to win the lost by working through the local church; to seek to edify the people of God by strong Bible preaching; and to seek to please God and not man.
Southgate Baptist Church is an independent fundamentalist congregation. Harvey, who has been in the ministry for more than 40 years, has been at the church for almost 14 years.
