Sheriff’s Office arrests two

Jackson County investigator Shannon Brewster made two arrests Thursday, closing two separate cases.

Kathy Ann Hoskins Gifford, 41, of Woodville, was charged with five counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument Second Degree and five counts of Theft Third Degree, stemming from a case reported on Aug. 28 in Hollywood.

Gifford is currently out of the Jackson County Jail on a $2,400 bond.

Brewster also recovered stolen property reported at a residence on County Road 382 near Henagar on Sept. 14.

A Coleman tent, cookware, a leather jacket and bandanas were recovered.

Nicholas Kelly Murphy, 32, of Henagar, was arrested and charged with Theft of Property Second Degree and Burglary Third Degree.

Murphy is currently out of jail on bond.
