A Dutton man is currently in the Jackson County Jail after allegedly breaking into Dutton Elementary School last week.
Jackson County Sheriff’s Office investigator Shannon Brewster received a tip Tuesday, which led to the arrest of Michael Anthony Hollis, 25, of Dutton.
Captain Eric Woodall said Hollis allegedly broke into the school and two vehicles, one parked at the school and the other at a residence nearby.
“Investigators located Hollis, along with items stolen, at a residence on County Road 451 in Dutton,” Woodall said.
Woodall said items recovered included several laptop computers, electronic equipment and clothing.
The estimated value of the recovered property was nearly $4,200, Woodall said.
Hollis has been charged with Burglary Third Degree, Theft First Degree, two counts of Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Vehicle and seven counts of Theft Third Degree.
Hollis remained in the Jackson County Jail Wednesday morning on a $17,500 bond.
