Talented youth and teens from across the county will rock the Northeast campus next Saturday night.

The sixth annual Jackson County Talent Expose´ will be Saturday, Sept. 26 inside the Northeast Alabama Community College Auditorium.

This year’s show will feature 42 acts from throughout the county, and will include singing, gymnastics and several types of dance, to include ballet, jazz and clogging.

Joey Vaughn, Jackson County Child Nutrtion Program coordinator, said 31 of the acts are dancing and gymnastics, while the other 11 are signing.

“We probably have in excess of 100 students (performing) from all over the county,” Vaughn said.

Acts in this year’s show include Markie Haynes, Kaitlyn Reynolds, Harley and Pacey Carson, Avery Fairbanks, Owen Fairbanks and Amanda Crawford, all of Section; Elizabeth Grace Wilson, Shainah Peek, Breanna Crawford, Cassandra Brock and Jackie Stinson, all of Pisgah; Mallory Rodgers of Skyline; Kelsie Stinson of Dutton, Brianna Brock and Briana Baker of Rosalie; Felicia Hunter, Baleigh Newman, Katie Russell, Makayla Westmoreland, Sidney Abbot and Rebekah Wilson, all of Bridgeport; Sydney Watson, Alex Bryant, Lillie Holderfield, Ashley Lynch, Paige Pritchett, Madison Childress, Hannah Hoosier, Jessica Knox and Madison Potter, all of Scottsboro.

The North Jackson High School Dance Line, as well as groups from Shasta’s Cheer Center, Pink Dance Studio, Heart and Soul Dance Studio, Signal School of Physical Education, Dance Xpress and Melanie Varner’s Dance Studio, will also perform in Saturday’s show.

Shainah Peek and Jordan Guffey will serve as emcees for this year’s event.

The Talent Expose is sponsored annually by employees of the Jackson County Child Nutrition Program as a way to provide scholarships to students throughout the county.

“Not only does it give some students a way to show their talents, it also give a way to provide scholarships,” Vaughn previously said.

All funds from the show are placed in a scholarship fund. Approximately 40 students have received $16,550 in scholarships to date.

“With this, every single penny goes back to the students,” Vaughn.

Cost for tickets is $8 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the door before Saturday’s show.

Vaughn said around 600 people attended the expose´ last year, and said he hopes the acts will “pack the house” next weekend.

“I really belives we’ll fill it up this year because its gotten a little bigger each year through word of mouth,” Vaughn said.
