Cooperation leads to drug bust

Published June 6, 2009

A joint investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, DeKalb County Drug Task Force and Powell Police led to a marijuana bust Wednesday in Pleasant View.

Cpt. Chuck Phillips and investigator Craig Holcomb, along with Jimmy Jones of DeKalb and Powell Police Chief Steve Dutton executed a search warrant at a residence on County Road 423.

"We found numerous bags of marijuana," said Phillips.

Matthew Scott Holestak, 22, of Pleasant View was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana first degree.

Phillips said Holestak is currently out of the Jackson County Jail on bond.
